Why Visit Cancun?
In  April 1988 my husband and I  spent 3 weeks discovering the Yucatan Peninsula

We fell in love with the diversity in  the Yucatan

Here you have quaint colonial cities, Mayan Ruins, a fascinating eco system  and the best beaches in Mexico

So naturally Cancun was the logical choice for our vacation home

We live in Edmonton, Canada where winters can be very harsh and long

Cancun offers an infrastructure equal to  any large urban centre

It was developped as a resort with a large infrasture in place right from the beginning(sewer plant for instance),unlike smaller resorts that grew

This includes  American standard health facilities, safe drinking water , clean beaches

The city also has a bike path the length of Kukulcan boulevard  and  outside exercise park

In this city of 1 million, you will find the same stores than in the US and Canada

Yet if you venture into the city  center, you will still get the small town feel with its markets and  plazas

The city is perfectly located to use as a home base for exploring the Peninsula and the Islands

Some of our pictures
How to get here
Cancun airport is about 25 minutes from our condo building
We are at Km 9 of Kukulcan Bld
We are located  after the Maralago (red marble facade) and Portofino/Bay View Grand towers

We use Exeltur airport transport each time we go
They offer good service and reasonable rates

You will pay about 25-27$ USD for a taxi  from our condo to the airport
From the airport to our condo it will cost about 60$ USD for a taxi
Shared transport is about 15$ USD per person from airport to our condo (one way stops at several hotels, leaves when full, takes a long time)
